Most vehicles fitted with a DPF will need to have it replaced at some point as part of the service schedule if it has not already become overloaded in the meantime, this can be very expensive indeed. The cost of this will go into over a thousand pound. For example a BMW Diesel Particulate Filter would cost in excess of £1350.00.
The Diesel particulate filter is not currently a legal requirement, nor is it currently needed for the yearly MOT test so the most cost effective solution is to have someone actually remove the DPF from the exhaust system then programme the ECU.
Due to the low reliability of DPF units now fitted to diesel powered vehicles, we are permanently removing them. DPF removal is a complex process and involves removal of not only the DPF exhaust brick, but also the operating software.
